"I had been drawing long before I ever met you, but you introduced to me to anime and it was through that that I really improved.
We drifted; lost our similarities; you got your boyfriend; I got my new friends, whose words I won't have to constantly question, wondering if they're telling me yet another lie; and we lost the connection we once had, the one that made us friends. I just don't know you anymore.
I never knew there was a price to improvement...
...but forgive me if I can't completely regret it."
It began with an innocent meeting in 5th grade and that fated introduction. I didn't find out the truth until it was too late. We don't talk much anymore, our classes are different, as are our interests, and I never know what to say around her. It's a pale, pathetic shadow of our youth when we chattered endlessly and rarely fell into an awkward silence, but now...
I don't know. I just don't know.
I never really questioned why she stopped drawing. I was so oblivious and was simply happy that someone wanted to look at my drawings, that she still did. So happy...
A special thanks to whose picture "My Inspiration" ([link]) ironically inspired me to post my own story. Thank you.
