EDIT: Male!GLaD0S' hair style and face changed to look younger and more modern.

----------------

Last night, I encountered an incredible and powerful urge to Gender Bend Portal, more specifically Portal 2. I spent almost 4 hours straight drawing last night and didn't finish until almost midnight. Then, I steamrolled through typing up my (somewhat)comprehensible Head Canon for this Gender Bent Portal.

Please realize that I was very Brain Dead when typing the following up, so I ask that you forgive any errors and such that might lurk within. ^^; I hope it makes a remote amount of sense...

------------------------

Now that you have seen the drawings for my Portal GB, I describe my descriptions and HeadCanon for it below. (I don’t have any new names for these three, so I’m just going to use the original names.)

—————-

Chell: (Most of this is my own HeadCanon of Chell, so it’s not drastically altered with the change in gender.)

Chell, I picture, is actually not all that tall; pretty average height actually. IN fact, he’s actually not too much taller than Wheatley. The long-fall boots make him look taller, though. He’s also stocky: muscular, but compact. Like his female counterpart, he does not speak. However, though in the first Portal I imagine he—and the female Chell—did in fact purposely not speak, as the Valve guys stated, to piss off GLaD0S, I imagine that in Portal 2, Chell literally can not speak. After being in stasis for long, he has been damaged as Wheatley suggests and has actually forgotten how to speak or completely lost the ability to do so, making him permanently mute. This makes Chell the strong, but silent type. *grins* Lol. He is also very serious and intelligent, much like his female counterpart, and he is very focused in his tasks, whether it be completing tests or attempting to escape the clutches of manic, power-hungry AI.

Because of his more larger musculatrue, GLaD0S will make cool comments that question his intelligence—the whole brawn, not brains thing coming into play—claiming this explains his inability to speak. The term “Neanderthal” is most loved and used.

Chell seems to find Wheatley more amusing than anything—this being before she takes over, of course—surprising considering his normal serious nature. He smiles a little more often, however slight, when with her—or really begins to smile at all, actually. Lol.

.

Wheatley:

Wheatley is rather petite and small. She has white hair pulled back into a low ponytail. She has thin, wire-rim glasses, which hide a pair of vibrant blue eyes, and an Apeture uniform of sorts; white with blue trim. She has a nice little skirt, white tights, and little high-heeled shoes that are purposely meant to resemble the long-fall boots a bit. There’s also the little white gloves on her hands.

To be honest, there’s not supposed to really be anything special about her or particularly eye-catching. Well, in comparison to the other AI, at least. She’s disarming, mousy almost in a weird sort of way. (She actually reminds me a bit of a sweet little secretary. Lol.) I mean, she’s pretty, but she has a shy, awkward way about her, even with her constant chatter, and she doesn’t get noticed a lot or receive much attention. (In a way, she actually envies the Adventure core for her own ability to draw attention to herself and be noticed without even trying. She makes it look so easy, and this is partly why Wheatley feels a bit of resentment towards her.) Wheatley actually develops a complex because of this. It doesn’t help that she’s not exactly very bright. People have jokingly called her a bimbo for a long time because of her… ditzy nature. No one really ever takes her seriously as a result. They treat her like a joke. This has caused many hurt feelings on Wheatley’s part, the name-calling and the laughing…

On meeting Chell, she finds someone that actually seems to appreciate her presence. When he smiles (“laughs”) at her, it’s not the same as all the others. He does find her amusing, she can tell, but it’s different… kinder, in a weird sort of way, and she clings to this, this kindness, this attention that she’s never had. He’s actually listening to her, and Wheatley develops a small crush on the silent man. However, Chell never really seems to pay much mind to this, if he notices.

We’ll get into Evil!Wheatley in a moment.

(Yes, I admit the handles look a little awkward. I apologize. I wanted them, but wasn’t entirely sure how to go about them, but where the handles “hook in” to her are two of the many places where GLaD0S’ cables will attach, as you will soon see. The lips were also inspired by the lips of a few Human GLaD0S’ I’d seen: Black top lip, uncolored bottom.)

.

GLaD0S:

“Congratulations, you’ve put her in charge. Did it ever occur to you in that thick Neanderthal skull of yours that that might be a bad idea? No?… I thought not.”

GLaD0S looks as your typical evil villian does and is actually a contrast to Chell. He’s tall and a lean muscular to Chell’s stockier build. Where Chell is “rough,” he’s more clean-cut and elegant. He is cordial and sarcastic, cruel and cold; much like his female counterpart, but he seems somehow less amusing and more frightening, more intimidating. His own white hair is short and spiked in the front, but still neat and clean-cut, and one eye is like that of GLaD0S’ own—as I have actually seen on Human GLaD0S’ before. I like it.

He almost has the appearance of a mad scientist, with his long gloves and odd coat that resembles, slightly, a labcoat. His uniform is black and white, but the clasp at his throat is golden-yellow, like his eyes. His uniform is spandex and form-fitting; even the coat fits his form like spandex, except for the long “tail.” The wires attach at the ports on his shoulders, in the back of his head, and one single one on his back. (He also has long, thin fingers. *grins*) His boots actually have a bit of a heel, the sole being thicker in the back.

As I have mentioned, GLaD0S likes to question Chell’s intellect due to his build and lack of speech and particularly enjoys the insult of “Neanderthal.” He likes to dwell on the topic of “brains over brawn” and obviously sees himself as the brains and Chell as the brawn.

.

Evil!Wheatley:

“You never caught me! You never listened to me! You never NOTICED me! Well, I bet you’re noticing me now, aren’t you, Luv!”

This Wheatley obviously looks a lot different than the old Wheatley.

Her hair is no longer bound in its nice little “conservative ponytail and is messier, wilder. Her figure is also fully seen now in the spandex uniform that is a spin-off of GLaD0S’ own. Her handles have vanished, and there are now cords attached there along with the numerous others. (The places where the handles connected were something like USB ports, I suppose, or something like that.)

Yes, she’s not wearing her glasses. Why? Well, I had this thought about in taking over GLaD0S’ “body,” or position now really, the new-found power and such, since she’s not really a full “human,” actually more robot, she is “upgraded” and her vision is corrected so long as she is connected to this new, powerful “body” and immersed in all this new data and information. It’s not permanent, of course. She will need her glasses again once disconnected, but for now, she does not.

Wheatley is overwhelmed with all these changes, this new transformation. For the first time, she feels attractive, sexy even, desirable. She has lost all that made her unnoticed and inconspicuous before, and now she feels she simply attracts eyes. She feels incredible and powerful with this change, which leads to her sudden change in behavior as well. The small crush is not really forgotten so much as altered and twisted. It is partly what leads her to bring the elevator back down and to want to keep him there, like a plaything, if that makes any sense.

Her mind twists their previous scenario, in which he seemed unaware of her little crush, and makes her believe that he purposely did so to torment her and had strung her along like a puppet until he was through with her, at which point he would abandon her and toss her away like a ragdoll. This is another part of what influences her to bring him back and grow so angry and bitter with him.

GLaD0S uses the terms “bimbo” and “floozy” more than once, as well as other variations of the term, which enrages Wheatley as it opens all those old wounds caused over the years by other’s cruel and thoughtless comments and dismissal of her.

Well, that’s it. My Gender Bent Portal 2, which I spent like 4 hours drawing. Lol. Oh my gosh, I’m so tired right now. I seriously think I’m going to bed now…
